Susan Spiegel, Board President

A native of Cherry Hill, N.J., Susan lived in Boston, Washington DC, New York and Philadelphia before she became a long-time resident of the Monterey Peninsula. Susan is a top-producing Realtor with Keller Williams Coastal Estates, a qualifying member of Keller Williams Luxury International and has been active in numerous non-profits and civic organizations. She was a founding member of Sustainable Carmel and is a Certified VNA Hospice Volunteer. Several years ago, she joined a women’s group for a tour of the Food Bank and literally was brought to tears at the sight of so many needy people lining up for assistance. She accepted an invitation to join the Food Bank board and subsequently was elected its president.

When the Food Bank suffered a devastating arson fire in 2015, Susan donated her time and professional expertise to help broker the purchase of a new site in Salinas where the Food Bank built its new facility. Previously, in Philadelphia, she built a start-up company that created a new worldwide market for animation art sales, negotiating and holding contracts with Fortune 100 companies, including The Walt Disney Company and Time-Warner. An innovative sales and marketing entrepreneur, Susan has combined her passion for helping people with her strategic business skills in advancing the cause of the Food Bank.
